The Kanguru Defender HDD300 hardware encrypted hard drive has achieved Level 2, FIPS 140-2 Certification.

FIPS 140-2 is a joint Certification program between NIST (National Institute of Standards) in the United States and CSE (Communications Security Establishment) in Canada. It provides government guidelines regarding the security evaluation for cryptographic modules. Kanguru Solutions demonstrates that by meeting the level 2 threshold of FIPS 140-2, the Defender HDD300 has strong, tamper-evident protections in place to prevent unauthorized access, attack, or brute force attempts to gain access to the sensitive data.

The Kanguru Defender HDD300 hardware encrypted hard drive comes with integrated onboard AntiVirus by BitDefender® (30-day FREE trial). Built right into the drive, the anti-virus consistently scans the drive in the background, ensuring that all of your files will be safe and protected from viruses.

The Kanguru Defender HDD300 prevents physical access to the chip. Any subversive attempt to remove or tamper with the chip destroys it, rendering it unusable and inaccessible.

Using Kanguru Remote Management Console™ (KRMC)™, this optional feature gives you the ability to control an entire fleet of hardware encrypted drive(s) from anywhere in the world. As the administrator, you can remotely delete drives that have been lost or stolen, manage passwords (strength, updates and remote resets), and ensure drives are in compliance with set security policies and much more.
